National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS)
The National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) is an annual survey of facilities providing substance abuse treatment. It is conducted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The N-SSATS is designed to collect data on the location, characteristics, services offered, and number of clients in treatment at alcohol and drug abuse facilities.

In New Hampshire, 60 substance abuse treatment facilities responded to the 2004 N-SSATS, reporting that there were 3,517 clients in substance abuse treatment on March 31, 2004. The survey response rate in New Hampshire was 90%.

In New Hampshire, 43% of the facilities surveyed focused primarily on substance abuse treatment services.

In New Hampshire, 94% of the substance abuse problems being treated pertained to both alcohol and drug abuse.

In New Hampshire, 73% of the substance abuse problems being treated pertained to drug abuse only.

In New Hampshire, 80% of the substance abuse problems being treated pertained to alcohol abuse only.

In New Hampshire, 78% of the substance abuse treatment being received was from outpatient care.

In New Hampshire, 32% of the substance abuse treatment being received was from residential care.
